Electroexcitation of particle-hole states
Description
The general motivations for studying electroexcitation of particle-hole states are summarized. A very brief sketch of particle-hole theory is then presented and special emphasis is put on the desirable characteristics of experimental facilities. The interconnections with other processes, particularly the semileptonic weak interactions are mentionned. The specific theoretical results presented for 16O are part of an in-going study of semi-leptonic weak and electromagnetic interactions in nuclei. The scope is limited to what is the near future for this particular category of electron scattering, namely, what can be done with the new generation of electron linacs that could not be done in the past
