Enhancement possibilities of hydroxyapatite adhesion to Si3N4 substrate

Description
In this work we prepared layered composite material with chemically connected hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2) and SiO2 substrate. Newly formed calcium silicate (CaSiO3) interlayer was responsible for the connection. On the lateral cut of the layered composite were identified (Rtg analysis) two new layers: CaSiO3 (thickness 2-3 μm) and Ca10(P03)6(OH)2 (30 μm). (authors)
