Full text: Radiative parameters for transitions depopulating the levels belonging to the 3d8 4s2 configuration of Cu II and to the 4d96s and 4d95d configurations of Ag II have been obtained both theoretically and experimentally. On the experimental side, a laser produced plasma was used as a source of Cu II and Ag II spectra. The light emitted by the laser-produced plasma was focused on the input slit of a grating monochromator coupled with a time-resolved optical multichannel analyzer system. Spectral response calibration of the experimental system was made using a deuterium lamp in the wavelength range from 200 to 400 nm, and a standard tungsten lamp in the range from 350 to 600 nm. The transition probabilities were obtained using measured branching ratios and available experimental data for the radiative lifetimes of the corresponding states. On the theoretical side, a relativistic Hartree-Fock approach including the most important relativistic effects as well as core-polarization effects was used for the calculations. Theory and experiment have been compared and compared also with previous results available in the literature. Possible explanations for some discrepancies observed when comparing theoretical and experimental results will be discussed during the meeting
