A state-of-the-art report on design technology of computerized operator support system for conceptual design of SMART

Description

Since the mid-1980, COSS (Computerized Operator Support System) has been developed in the world to improve the operational safety through supporting operators to monitoring and diagnosis of plant. However there is a few of studies associated with development of COSS in our country. These are moreover not aimed at the application to NPP or the experimental by simulator, but the studies of technologies. Therefore, to apply of the function of computerized operator aids to NPP, the design policy for COSS should be established in advance by reviewing the state of art and its application. In this study we viewed the state-of-the-art of COSS and its application and identified the design consideration for computerized operating procedures and operator advisory system by analyzing system characteristics and diagnosis techniques. And we presented the design direction and the design guidance for COSS of SMART (System-integrated Modular Advanced Reactor) based on the information and technologies analyzed through the state-of-the-art review.
