Three Mile Island
Description
The Three Mile Island accident was the worst accident ever experienced by the nuclear power industry. Although the radiation exposures were extremely low, the potential for greater public exposure did exist. Fortunately, the health and safety of the public were not affected by radiation, nor was anyone killed or injured; however, thousand of lives were disrupted by fear and anxiety and by a limited evacuation.
