Extended study of (p-d-t) process in the (p,t) reactions including the unbound state channels
Description
The Roles of simultaneous (p-t) and sequential (p-d-t) transfer processes are investigated in the (p,t) reactions. For the intermediate channels in the sequential transfer process, the 1S0 and 3S1 + 3D1 unbound deuteron states as well as the ground state are taken into account. One-step and the sequential transfer processes are accurately evaluated employing the realistic wave functions and the finite-range interactions. The sequential transfer process is found to be dominant for both natural and unnatural parity transitions in the reactions investigated here ; 208Pb(p,t) 206Pb at 22 and 35 MeV. The analyzing-power function does not get small even when the unbound deuteron states are included in the calculation with the realistic wave functions. (author)
