Backangle anomaly in the 28Si(α,α)28 Si and 32S(α,α)32S elastic scattering
Description
Data on the experiments for the investigations on anomalous large angle scattering of alpha particles on 28Si and 32S around the barrier energies at the tandetron accelerator laboratory of King Fahd University of Petroleum ampersand Minerals, Dhahran 31261, Saudi Arabia, is described. Excitation functions and angular distribution measurements have been carried out for the 28Si(α,α)28Si elastic scattering in the laboratory energies 3.0-7.7 MeV at all angles in 5 degrees steps in the 30 degrees- 175 degrees angular range. Similar excitation function measurements were carried out for the 32S(α,α)32S scattering in the 3.0-8.9 MeV range. Potential resonances have been identified for a possible quasi-molecular description, as well as the backangle anomaly observed in both systems
