Description
This paper explores further the implications of an approach in which the Pomeron contribution σsub(p)(S) to the hadronic cross sections is obtained as an approximate solution of an integral equation. The inclusive cross sections f(psub(c)) for pp→cX, where c=π+-, k+-, anti p, are calculated, in the central region, in terms of σsub(p)(S), and found in good agreement with experiment. If σpsub(S) saturates the Froissart bound the main high-energy features of f(psub(c)) are obtainable without free parameters
