A shock model for dynamic calculus of structures

  • 1. CEA Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Saclay, 91 - Gif-sur-Yvette (France). Dept. des Etudes Mecaniques et Thermiques

Description

A structure subjected to vibrations, or to an earthquake, might encounter shocks against stops or another structure. Finite element calculus making use of the CORALIE program (of CEA-SEMT system), is applied in bending to a shock between two parallel bars imbedded at their base and very near to each other (2 mm), then to a bundle of parallel bars, and extended to the case of a great number of shocks (seisms). The algorithm is stable and approximation satisfactory
