Operation of the supraconductor solenoidal spectrometer: SOLENO. Application to the study of the gamma decay of neutron inner shells in 111Sn
Description
The first part concerns the study of the magnetic and optical properties of the spectrometer SOLENO (in its one coil version). The measured magnetic field has a good azimuthal symmetry and is in a perfect agreement with the one generated by the program TRIM. The theoretical trajectories calculations have reproduced very well the main experimental properties. Taking advantage of the properties of SOLENO, and using the angular correlation method, we studied the γ-decay of deeply-bound hole states in 111Sn excited by the 112Sn(3He,αγ)111Sn reaction at 32 MeV. The decay of the strong structures (3 MeV <= Esub(chi) <= 8 MeV), attributed to neutron pick-up from the next inner 1gsub(9/2), 2psub(1/2) and 2psub(3/2) orbitals, indicated for the first time, the importance of the neutron-hole-phonons states in these structures. A novel on model-independent method was used to extract the 1gsub(9/2) on 2p spectroscopic strength distributions

La premiere partie est consacree a l'etude des proprietes magnetiques et optiques du spectrometre SOLENO (dans sa version a une seule bobine). Les mesures de champ magnetique ont permis de mettre en evidence sa bonne symetrie azimutale et de constater un tres bon accord entre la carte de champ mesuree et celle calculee a l'aide du code TRIM. Un calcul theorique des trajectoires des particules chargees dans SOLENO a ete fait et ses resultats se sont averes en bon accord avec l'experience. Tirant profit des proprietes peu communes du spectrometre SOLENO, on a etudie la decroissance gamma des couches internes de neutrons dans le noyau 111Sn au moyen de la reaction 112Sn (3Heαγ)111Sn et en utilisant la methode des correlations angulaires. L'analyse des modes de decroissance des structures a haute energie d'excitation (3. MeV <= Esub(chi) <= 8 MeV) correspondant au pick-up d'un neutron dans les premieres sous-couches internes de 112Sn(1gsub(9/2), 2psub(1/2) et 2psub(3/2)) a revele pour la premiere fois l'importance des composantes de trou-phonons dans ces structuresFiles
