Polymerization and reaction ability of zirconium in sulfuric acid solutions

Description
The review of the last decade papers is given devoted to zirconium chemistry in sulphuric acid solutions; the results of studying reactivity of zirconium compounds in these solutions are presented. The chemistry of sulphuric acid zirconium solutions is of a complex contradictory nature peculiar to transition elements. The zirconium state depends on the nature of the compounds used for preparing the solution, its composition and conditions of keeping. A competition is observed in the solutions between the formation of bonds of zirconium with SO42- and OH- groups, the formation and destruction of a hydrate shell, and rearrangement of zirconium complexes
