Description

The output characteristics of a laser based on polycrystalline Cr2+:ZnSe obtained by diffusion annealing are studied upon pumping by a cw-diode-pumped Q-switched Tm:YLF laser operating at a wavelength of 1.908 μm with a pulse repetition rate of 2 kHz. Efficient pulse-periodic lasing is obtained in the region of 2.32 μm with a total efficiency of ∼17%, a pulse duration of ∼45 ns, and an average power of ∼1 W. (lasers and amplifiers)
