Inheritance of apiculus pigmentation in some rice varieties and its possible relationship to salinity

Description

The ingeritance of apiculus colour and its relationship to salinity (4,000 ppm) was studied in four rice varieties by using water-culture techniques. The apiculus colour in Jhona 349 and Magnolia seems to be controlled by two pairs of CBr and Sp genes complementary in nature. No relationship could be established between the apiculus pigmentation and resistance to salinity
