Description
The paper describes the efforts carried out for modernizing radiation monitors. These devices are the nodes of proposed radiation information system. The hardware development carried out for micro-controller board and Ethernet board has been described. The specifications of these boards are outlined firmware development carried out to implement UDP/IP protocol stack and RadNet application layer protocol has been described. Overall direction leads to design of system-on-chip (SOC) as a logical end. (author)
