Local band conduction in Pb1-xSnxSe alloys irradiated by electrons

Description
Field dependences of Hall coefficient RH(4.2≤T≤11 K, B ≤7T) of Pb1-xSnxSe (x=0.125, 0.25) alloys, irradiated by electrons were investigated in the vicinity of transitions of metal-dielectric type, induced by pressure (P≤18 kbar) and electron irradiation (F ≤ 4.1x1017 cm-2). It is shown that the character of RH(B) dependences is determined mainly by electron conductivity over the allowed bond and the hole conductivity over the local band. Theoretical dependences RH(B), corresponding satisfactorily to experimental ones, were calculated in the framework of two-band approximation. The obtained results enabled to acquire the data on charge carrier parameters for conductivity over local state band taking place under electron irradiation in the energy spectrum of Pb1-xSnxSe alloys
