Concurrent correction of ion and electron space charge in ion beam simulation code
Description
A new iteration scheme is described for the reduction of the computational work in the positive ion beam simulation code. The scheme has only major iteration loop; Poisson's equation is solved with the concurrent correction of ion and electron space charge at each iteration. In addition, the electron temperature is raised at initial and is drawn to a true value by a small amount every iteration. By using this method, only twelve to fifteen iterations is sufficient for ion optics to converge. (author)
