Status of the K2K long-baseline neutrino-oscillation experiment

Description
The first accelerator-based long-baseline neutrino-oscillation experiment, K2K, has been started in 1999, after 2.5 years of construction of a neutrino beam line and a near detector complex. A status report is given on the commissioning and tuning of the beam line, and studies of the neutrino-beam properties. The experiment is expected to enter a stable data-taking phase in June, 1999
