Damping of single-particle states and giant resonances at finite temperature

Description
The damping of nuclear motion in hot nuclei is discussed within the framework of the thermal Green's functions theory. The connection between the self-energy of single-particle states and giant dipole resonances (GDR) is pointed out. It is shown that the T-dependence of the GDR intrinsic damping width can essentially be neglected, within the temperature range of physical interest
