Description
SISSI operated during 6 months in 1995 and until July in 1996. Several physics experiments used this device for the production of secondary ion beams, even if some intervention had to be done on the cryogenic systems. Some machine studies were done, in order to improve the tuning of the optics for the secondary ion beam transport, and at the end of 1996 several mechanical modifications were undertaken to increase the transmission rate of the secondary beams. It was decided also to modify the cryogenic system in order to improve its reliability. (authors)
