Pressure effect on the electronic structure of UGe2

Description
It is shown that LSDA band structure calculations reproduce reasonably well the anisotropy of magnetic properties and the angular dependence of the high-frequency de Haas-van Alphen branch in UGe2. With the increase of the hydrostatic pressure, simulated by uniform compression of the unit cell, the U magnetic moment gradually decreases. The density of states at the Fermi level reaches its maximum when the lattice is compressed by 2%. At the same compression a maximum of the bare longitudinal susceptibility develops at small q
