Description
The acoustic phonon mode of LiNH4C4H4O6·H2O has been measured by inelastic X-ray scattering from 105 to 285 K. C55 at 105 K vanishes from q = 0 to 0.2, which corresponds to a five-unit cell in a real space length or 3–4 nm. It has been found that the compensation effect of a short-range interaction by a long-range one, longer than 3–4 nm, is important for proper ferroelastic transition. (author)
