Description
Measurements of the distribution of solids over the cross section of a dilute phase pneumatic conveying line were made using attenuation of low energy X-rays. The measurements were taken along a grid of chords across the pipe for mass solids loading ratios up to 3.1 in regions of accelerating flow, fully developed flow in horizontal and vertical orientations, and following 90 deg. bends in the horizontal and vertical planes. Image reconstruction methods for visualisation of the data are discussed. (author). 14 refs.; 8 figs
