Physical properties of ionizing radiations

Description

This publication proposes a detailed presentation of scientific knowledge on ionizing radiations. It first addresses some elements related to the physics of radioactivity: radioactivity by strong or weak interaction, by electromagnetic interaction. The author also gives an overview of radioactivity laws: fundamental law of radioactive decay, the radioactive half-life, radioactive daughters, random characteristic of radioactive emissions. He addresses particle radiations, their production (production of charged particles, of electron radiations, of heavier ions, of neutron beams), their interactions with matter (case of heavy charged particles, of electron radiations, of neutrons). He addresses the case of electromagnetic radiations with their production (electron re-arrangements within an atom, the Bremsstrahlung, the γ nuclear radiation), their interactions with matter (generalities, Thomson-Rayleigh scattering, photoelectric effect, Compton scattering, pair creation, and photo-nuclear reaction)
