Description

This paper explores the possibility of the application of CaSO4: Dy Teflon TLD badges for the environmental dose measurement. A methodology, different from that followed for individual monitoring, was designed for selection, preparation and evaluation to suit the need of environmental monitoring. The modified methodology could be used for measurement of dose up to 3-5 μSv for short monitoring period and 10-15 μSv for quarterly monitoring. A good agreement was observed between the results obtained from the measurements of CaSO4: Dy Teflon based TLD and that with CaF2 TLDs supplied and analyzed by EAD, BARC. The study demonstrates that the CaSO4: Dy Teflon TLD badges can be used for environmental dose measurement by suitably adjusting the processing procedures to improve sensitivity. (author)
