Description
Objective: To investigate the optimal nursing measures for patients with esophageal carcinoma who are receiving 125I seed esophageal stent placement treatment. Methods: A total of 21 cases with advanced esophageal cancer were enrolled in this study. All patients were treated with 125I radioactive particles esophageal stent implantation. Sufficient nursing interventions were carried out during perioperative period. Nursing measure-related complications were recorded, and the clinical results were analyzed. Results: The implantation of 125I seed esophageal stent was successfully accomplished in all the 21 patients. After the procedure, the symptom of dysphagia was effectively relieved, and the swallowing function was apparently improved. Four hours after the procedure, the patient, under nurse's guidance, stared to take liquid diet, and the patient began to swallow more easily. Four patients complained of right side chest pain, two patients had small amount of bleeding, and two patients had obvious foreign body sensation. Conclusion: For the treatment of advanced esophageal cancer, 125I radioactive particles esophageal stent implantation is a newly developed technique. Correct perioperative nursing care can effectively reduce the occurrence of related complications and improve the therapeutic results. (authors)
