Phase diagrams of ternary systems REE-M-Ga (M=Co, Ni, Ge, Li) as a basis of synthesis of double rare earth gallides and new ternary compounds in the systems with M=Co, Ni, Pd, Ge

Description

Mentioned phase diagrams were constructed, and double rare earth and yttrium gallides were prepared. In the case of Li, the number of ternary compounds, formed in the systems is very small; their amount grows (5-8) in the case of Ge, and in the case of Co, Ni - increases sharply (17-24). All homogeneity regions of solid solutions and ternary phases are stretched along REE isoconcentrate curve. Crystal structure of gallides was studied; temperature dependences (100-400 K) of magnetic susceptibility and thermo- e.m.f., as well as electric resistance (for cerium compounds) are presented. 3 refs.; 3 figs.; 1 tab
