Natural convection in the HFETR core
Description
Natural convection experiment has been performed at the beginning of first cycle in the HFETR. This paper has analysed theoretically the natural convection heat transfer in the HFETR core. For the case of non-uniform wall temperature, non-uniform heat flow, steady and fully developed laminar flow in the multi-annular type fuel element, the heat transfer coefficient for natural convection is well represented by the equation: Nu sub(f) = 1.05 (RePr) sub(f) sup(0.25)
