Description
Under extreme conditions the formation of new metastable superconductors and the stabilization of amorphous superconducting are possible. Superconducting metastable phases can be obtained by ultrafast quenching from the liquid state, as well synthesized at high temperatures and pressures. Examples of promising new superconducting compounds are, A15-type phases and metastable supersaturation of solid solutions based on superconducting phases by a third doping component that increases their T/sub c/. The highest value of T/sub c/ reached in thin rapidly quenched materials is 21 K. Synthesis under high pressures makes it possible to obtain T/sub c/ = 19 K in bulk materials (Nb3Ge). Highly promising is a combination of doping with extreme influences
