Determination of degradation of concrete exposed to liquid aggressive chemical by ultrasonic method

Description

In these days, when building constructions are attacked by aggressive environment, it is important quality diagnostics properties of these constructions. Endurance and durability is the basic needed characteristics of the concrete. This issue deals with study of visual and mechanical changes of concretes, which are exposed to longer incidence of liquid chemical aggressive medium. The non-destructive ultrasonic method is used for determination properties of concrete and its changes. The paper describes the using of ultrasonic methodology for concrete properties testing and the evaluation of test results. Also is given the relationship between speed of ultrasound waves and the quality of concrete and changes of quality of corroded concrete after term exposition in aggressive liquids. Different types of aggressive liquids are tested. (authors)
