Description

Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) on Nuclear Reactor Plant is an important topic because this condition is a major accident that can be postulated. The phenomenon of LOCA on Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) can be divided in three stages, i.e.: blowdown, refill and reflood. In the view of Emergency Core Coolant System evaluation, the reflood is the most important stage. In this stage, an injection of emergency water coolant must be done in a way that the core can be cooled and the overheating can be avoid. In this paper the physics phenomena of reflooding (rewetting) on fuel rods of Light Water Reactor is described. The theoretical result of spray-cooling and bottom-flooding works is written and compare with the experimental results
