Extraction chromatographic studies of uranium (VI) with n-capric acid

  • 1. Visvabharati Univ., Santiniketan (India). Dept. of Chemistry

Description

For the extraction and separation of U(VI) a rapid and selective method has been proposed by reversed phase extraction chromatography with capric acid coated on silica gel. The quantitative extraction of U(VI) has been achieved in the pH range 4.5-5.5. U(VI) has been separated from a variety of metal ions which are present in mixture by exploiting the difference in extractability and stripping behaviour. (author). 3 refs., 1 tab
