Description
The Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute has designed a new type marine reactor MRX. The reactor is an integrated type PWR and has passive type safety systems, which requires few valve operations for the start of their function. The core damage frequency has been evaluated for the MRX. Analysis result shows the MR X has the low core damage frequency, although there is no external power source. (author)
