The company was established in 1977 as the Nuclear Power Plant Research Institute (VUJE) to address research and development issues in nuclear power. It was restructured into a share-holding company owned by its employees in 1994. The Institute has evolved its research and development activities in the following areas: Nuclear component diagnostics; Nuclear safety; NPP personnel training; Commissioning and support to the operation of nuclear units; Modernization of power units; NPP decommissioning; Radwaste treatment and disposal; Environmental protection; Conventional power and renewable energy sources; Construction and support to the operation of electric grids and high voltage distribution stations; Information technologies. The Company has covered the research and development needs of operation of nuclear power units, however, it has addressed also particular issues in the phase of design, construction and commissioning of nuclear power installations, including performance of commissioning work. The company has paid a special attention to the improvement in maintenance, repair and reconstruction processes of both individual systems and whole units in nuclear power plants. The Training Center has provided comprehensive training for nuclear power plant personnel, electric station operators and operator son the market with electric energy, including training on special and full-scope unit simulators. In line with demands from operation, the company has developed technologies for radioactive waste management and decommissioning of nuclear power installations following the termination of their life time, including proposals for long-term disposal of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.We provide research and development and engineering services for the construction and reconstruction of conventional and renewable power sources, electric lines and distribution stations of high and very high voltage
