Evidence for and against relativistic beaming in active galactic nuclei
Description
This is a discussion of some recent observational results and some new ideas bearing on the question of relativistic beaming in radio galaxies and radio quasars. This is a qualitative discussion of whether beamed radiation has a great effect on what we see, whether core-dominant and lobe-dominant sources differ primarily in orientation, and, if so, what astronomical inferences would then follow
