Measurement of the inner pressure of a fuel rod and determination of the filling gas purity
Creators

Description
Fuel rods have to be controlled for their inner pressure and for the purity of the filled helium gas. This happens on the one hand during production, but on the other hand it las to be ensured that the specified parameters are met at the final fuel rod. This can only be actieved by destructive means - re-opening of the welded fuel rod and measuring the inner pressure and analysing the helium gas contained. In this paper a simple method is presented which allows both measurements within a short time. (orig.)
