The partial structure factor of sulphur in liquid CS2 by combining X-ray and neutron diffraction results
Description
The partial structure factor for sulphur in liquid CS2 at 200C has been computed by combining published X-ray and neutron diffraction results. Assuming that there are no correlations of molecular orientations, it is found that the main peak height of this sulphur partial structure factor is smaller than that for carbon-carbon. This result is discussed in relation to the solid state structure and recent theoretical calculations. (orig.)

Mit Hilfe von veroeffentlichten Roentgen- und Neutronenstreudaten wurde der partielle Strukturfaktor des Schwefels in CS2 bei 200C berechnet. Unter der Voraussetzung, dass keine molekulare Orientierungskorrelationen existieren, findet man fuer den Schwefel-Schwefel-Strukturfaktor eine kleinere Hoehe des Hauptmaximums im Vergleich zum Kohlenstoff-Kohlenstoff-Strukturfaktor. Dieses Ergebnis wird im Zusammenhang mit der Struktur der festen Phase und neueren theoretischen Berechnungen diskutiert. (orig.)Additional details
