Kinetics and mechanism of oxidation of tellurium(IV) by chloramine-T in hydrochloric acid medium
- 1. Andhra Univ., Waltair (India). Dept. of Chemistry
Description
In the title investigation a mechanism involving molecular chlorine as the active oxidising species has been proposed leading to the rate law, -d(CAT)/dt =(k1K1K2(CAT)(Te(IV))(H+)(CI-)/(TSA)). The activation parameters for the reaction are : Ea=65.8kJ molsup(-1), ΔH=63.29kJ molsup(-1), ΔS=-71.16 JKsup(-1) molsup(-1) and ΔG=85.25 kJ molsup(-1). (author)
