Determination of U(VI) microquantities in presence of complexant agents by X-ray fluorescence

Description
A method for determination of microquantities of uranium(30-220μg) in presence of complexant agents (α-HIBA, NTA) by adsorption of the complex quinalizarin-U(VI) on the M++-quinalizarin precipitate is described [1]. Several ions of metals as Cu++, Fe++, Ga++, Be++ and Al+++ were tested as precipitant agents. The influence of the complex competition in the mechanism of precipitation is also commented. The uranium was determinated by X-ray fluorescence analysis using the thin film technique [1-3). (Author)
Abstract (Portuguese)
Propoe-se um metodo para a determinacao de microquantidades de uranio (30-220 μg) em presenca de agentes complexantes fortes. O metodo esta baseado na adsorcao do compleco U(VI)-quinalizarina sobre o precipitado do ion de um metal com o mesmo reagente (quinalizarina) [1]. Diferentes ions como Cu++, Fe++, Ga++, Be++ e Al+++ foram testados como agentes precipitantes. A influencia da competicao entre os mecanismos de complexacao e precipitacao e tambem abordado. O uranio foi determinado por fluorescencia de raios-X, usando-se a tecnica da camada delgada [1-3]. (Autor)Additional details
