Bose realization for non-canonical representations of the symplectic group Sp(4) contains SU(2)xU(1)

Description

A new method is formulated for the construction of arbitrary unitary irreducible representations of the compact symplectic group Sp(4)∼O(5) in orthonormal bases which are reduced with respect to the non-canonical group chain Sp(4) contains SU(2)xU(1). The method is based on a realization of the algebra of generators and basis states by means of a system of Bose creation and annihilation operators. As an illustration, some series of representations with multiplicities equal to, or less than, three are given in explicit algebraic form. (author)
