Energy dissipation by ionizing radiation

  • 1. Physics Dept., Janta Vedic College, C.C.S. Univ., Meerut (India)

Description

In the present study, highly charged ion scattering cross section for nitrogen molecule is evaluated by a semi-empirical approach based on the Born Bethe cross sections. The secondary electron spectra thus obtained in terms of the inelastic scattering cross sections as a function of energy and the scattering angle have been employed to evaluate the energy per ion pair. It is noted that the partial ionization cross sections for nitrogen molecule revealed agreement with the available experimental data
