Microwave digestion for determination content of iron and zinc total in food

Description
The food digestion procedure was optimized by means of a microwave oven, to quantify the iron and total zinc in different matrices by atomic absorption spectroscopy. The optimum amount of concentrated HNO3 was analyzed at 65% to digest sample mass determined by assessment of the percentage of recovery obtained with different amount of HNO3. The results have not differed from those obtained by officially recommended methods of acid digestion in open systems and calcination. (author)

El procedimiento de digestion de alimentos se ha optimizado por medio de un horno de microondas, para cuantificar el hierro y el zinc totales en diferentes matrices por espectroscopia de absorcion atomica. La cantidad optima de HNO3 concentrado se ha analizado al 65% para digerir determinada masa de muestra por evaluacion del porcentaje de recuperacion obtenido con diferente cantidad de HNO3. Los resultados no han diferido de los obtenidos por los metodos recomendados oficialmente de digestion acida en sistemas abiertos y de calcinacion. (autor)Additional details
