FeSb2-FeTe2 polythermal cross-section of Fe-Sb-Te system
Description
On the basis of data on differential thermal, microstructural, X-ray phase analyses and measurements of the thermo-emf coefficients the FeSb2-FeTe2 polythermal cross section of the Fe-Sb-Te ternary system is plotted. It is shown that all alloys are formed according to peritectic reactions. The cross section is partially quasibinary. Below the solidus line solid solutions on the basis of double compounds FeSb2 and FeTe2 and a ternary intermediate phase are in equilibrium. The stoichiometric composition of this phase corresponds to FeSbTe formula. The boundaries of homogeneity areas on the basis of FeSb2, FeTe2 and FeSbTe are determined. The alloys on the basis of FeSbTe are p- and n-type semiconductors
