Infinite-dimensional Hamiltonian systems associated with matrix Schroedinger operators

  • 1. Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). Facultad de Ciencias Fisicas

Description

The Gel'fand-Dikii method is used to derive families of nonlinear Hamiltonian evolution equations from matrix Schroedinger operators. These Hamiltonian systems have an infinite set of constants of motion such that the Poisson brackets of any two of them vanish identically and they admit also a formulation in terms of Lax pairs.
