The application of inorganic ion exchangers to the decontamination of radioactive liquid effluents
Description
A generic programme of work at Harwell has been investigating the potential application of inorganic exchangers in effluent treatment. Hydrous titanium oxide, manganese dioxide titanium and zirconium phosphates, polyantimonic acid and copper hexacyanoferrate were selected for experimental investigation. An extensive experimental programme has examined the performance of these six materials for the removal of a variety of radionuclides from a wide range of different simulated waste effluents.
