Multiwire proportional chamber for an alpha-spectrometer

Description
A description is given of a multiwire proportional chamber with an analog data acquisition system designed for automatic spectrum measurement with the JINR large-sized alpha-ray spectrograph. The chamber has an anode and an cathode with plane surfaces. The working area of the outlet window is 19 by 3 cm2. Fluorine plastic columns are used to fasten the anode wire. Methane at a pressure of 0.4 atm. is used as a working gas
