Description
The objective is the development and assembly of an autonomous mobile platform for the identification, search and capture of radioactive seeds of low-activity brachytherapy lost in a flat environment with fixed obstacles. When locating the radioactive source the platform emits electrical pulses to the Arduino Uno microcontroller, whose pulse frequency is inversely proportional to the distance from the radioactive source sensor. The microcontroller analyzes the frequency of the pulses at a threshold value and performs a pre-programmed movement, aiming to reduce the distance from the platform to the source, avoiding obstacles, positioning itself in the most appropriate position for the source to be aspirated Inside a container present on the platform. After assembly, radioactive seeds were searched and captured for brachytherapy, whose assertiveness is presented. The device produced presented low cost and with characteristics that provided greater flexibility of use in laboratory floor. Finally, suggestions are made for field testing and performance enhancement through new settings and search schedules
