Description
A new version of the phase method of determining sound velocities is suggested and realized. It is a 'nonius' type method that allows one to obtain an acceptable accuracy (<= 1%) in submillimeter samples. The sound velocities in borocarbide single crystals RNi2B2C (R = Y, Lu, Ho) are measured and the elastic moduli and the Debye temperatures are calculated
