Dynamic CT of cerebral infarctions
- 1. Fujita-Gakuen Health Univ., Toyoake, Aichi (Japan)
Description
Twenty cases of cerebral infarction, all of which presented cerebral arterial occlusion and/or hemiparetic attacks without showing any low-density areas on their brain CT, were examined by means of dynamic CT. The functional maps were obtained on the basis of various parameters derived from a gamma-variate curve fitting the time-density curve. Functional maps of the cases with mild hemiparesis showed a delayed circulation in the motor cortex; on the contrary, the asymptomatic cases showed no laterality. The delayed circulation in the normo-density area on CT was considered to indicate misery perfusion without ischemic necrosis. (author)
