Thermonuclear device

Description

Purpose: To suppress the instability for the plasma position and secure the tritium breeding factor in the blanket in a torus type thermonuclear divice. Constitution: Torus plasmas show instable states for the change of the position under the interaction between the poroidal vertical magnetic field and the plasma current. In order to effectively suppress the instability, fundamental conductor loops bent in the plasma direction are disposed in the toroidal direction while surrounding the plasmas. The suppression device can effectively reduce the electromagnetic forces upon plasma disruption without decreasing the neutron blanket and reducing the tritium charging space. The durability and the safety for the plasma position instability suppression device and the entire apparatus can improved to facilitate the maintenance and checking workings. (Horiuchi, T.)
