Description
Adequate solutions are expected from renewable energy sources that may stop ozone depletion and contribute to resource conservation. Almost any OECD country is making efforts to promote photovoltaics and wind power. To give a survey of the measures taken and results obtained promotion programs are compared and the success achieved in the individual OECD countries is outlined. National energy institutions were interviewed and their 1993/94 programs were evaluated. Some of the data and statements are incomplete. (orig.)

Grosse Hoffnungen werden angesichts der Klimaproblematik und der Ressourcenschonung auf erneuerbare Energie gesetzt. Fast jedes OECD-Land unternimmt Anstrengungen, um vor allem Photovoltaik und Windenergie zu foerdern. Um eine Uebersicht ueber durchgefuehrte Massnahmen und deren Resultate zu geben, vergleichen die Verfasser Foerdermassnahmen und bisherige Erfolge in den einzelnen OECD-Staaten. Dazu wurden nationale Energiesituationen befragt und deren programme ausgewertet. Der Bezugszeitraum ist 1993/94, die Angaben sind zum Teil unvollstaendig. (orig.)Additional details
